Wow, only the second Hopworks beer I’ve reviewed for this project. Surprising, given how much I enjoy visiting this kid- and earth-friendly brewpub. I tend to sample their hoppier offerings when I visit, but because of this effort, decided to try something new. The Earth Day Ale wasn’t particularly special, but it paired well with my pizza, and I dare say it could fit neatly into that emerging category of “table beer,†with its high, fine carbonation and crisp finish.
Beer Name: Earth Day Session Ale
Brewer: Hopworks Urban Brewery
Sampled: April 25, 2010
Notes: Very sweet and thin tasting. Like beet or cane sugar. Refreshing and crisp, not a sticky sweet but clean and fleeting. Excellent food beer.
Serving Type: Draft.
